Bravery can make a big difference in the outcome of a battle as this has been demonstrated in the book we read, The Killer Angels. Though sometimes bravery can also be a very foolish act, such as when you don’t make the best decisions for everyone as a whole. Foolishness when making important decisions can comeback and cost you later, possibly causing loss of lives and changing the momentum of a battle. There are some cases in this book, The Killer Angels, that prove bravery can be a good thing and that it can make a huge difference. I think that bravery is a good characteristic for leaders to have especially when the leaders use their actions to set an example and inspire bravery among those soldiers who may be hesitant to fight. There are multiple examples, throughout this book, of bravery and how courage has changed the outcome of a battle or prevented disaster. In the beginning of this book, Sorrel the spy who is hired by General Longstreet, to spy on the Union spots the enemy troops less than 200 miles from their camp. He hurries back to warn General Robert E. Lee that their army must move to prevent complete disaster and the destruction of the Confederate Army. He travels through the night in the enemies territory to get this urgent news to General Lee.
